The Leafs are well known to be looking around the league for a potential blue-liner, as they have been riddled with injuries to start the season. While much of the attention has been focussed on the Leafs getting Chris Tanev from the Calgary Flames, new reports have surfaced that they also are looking at Rasmus Ristolainen from the Philidelphia Flyers.
However, it appears the Flyers aren't willing to play ball with the Leafs, as they are already in a pretty good position this season.
The Leafs are now in desperation mode to acquire a defenseman, as John Klingberg has been ruled out for the season and will undergo hip surgery. With other injuries plaguing their blueline, the Leafs will need a reliable defender that can play big minutes down the stretch.
