Former Toronto Maple Leaf forward Michael Bunting has been dealt to the Dallas Stars.

Michael Bunting has been dealt by the Nashville Predators to the Dallas Stars in exchange for a third round pick according to Elliotte Friedman.
According to the official release from Dallas, Nashville acquires Seattle's third round pick in 2026 from the Stars in exchange for Bunting.
Bunting, a native of Scarborough, Ontario, was a member of the Toronto Maple Leafs for two seasons, having been signed as a cheap top-six option, blossoming as a forward in Toronto.
After scoring 38 goals and having 93 points in 157 games for the Leafs, Bunting signed with the Carolina Hurricanes, reuniting with former GM Kyle Dubas in Pittsburgh at the trade deadline.
Bunting was again dealt a year later, traded from Pittsburgh to Nashville. This is the third consecutive trade deadline in which Bunting has been dealt.
Bunting has 13 goals, 18 assists, & 31 points in 61 games this season for the Predators, fifth in the Central Division with a 27-26-8 record and 62 points.

Michael Bunting makes move to Stars in playoff hunt

The Dallas Stars have made a boost to their forward group, taking Michael Bunting from their divisional rivals Nashville in a western conference arms race.
The Colorado Avalanche, who lead Dallas in the Central Division, added Nicolas Roy from the Toronto Maple Leafs earlier in the day, and could still be active tomorrow at the deadline.
Dallas had already made a move on defense, acquiring Texas native Tyler Myers from the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for a second round pick in 2027 and a fourth round pick in 2029.
Bunting adds additional scoring on the Stars back half of their forward group, a possible scorer for the bottom-six that was a target of Dallas.
