Possible Trade emerging between the Maple Leafs and the Colorado Avalanche
The Maple Leafs surprisingly emerged as potential top trade partners for the Colorado Avalanche after the 2022 Stanley Cup champs learned some terrible news regarding an injured player.
It was announced recently that Pavel Francouz, the Avs' number two goalie, is injured and he'll miss the start of the season.Without him, Colorado is completely relying on Alexandar Georgiev to start the season.
In Toronto, they have good depth at this position, making the goalie trade a real possibility.
According to many, Martin Jones could be on his way out of Toronto if a deal happens.
Last season, Jones played in Seattle. He had a 27-13-3 record, an .887 save percentage and a 2.95 GAA.
With
Joseph Woll and
Ilya Samsonov set to compete for the number one role, Jones' acquisition was aimed to give depth between the Leafs' pipes.
If Woll and Samsonov have a great camp, Treliving could think about trading Jones. If it happens, a deal with Colorado could work.
