Phil Kessel has been spotted putting some work in with a team looking to make the playoffs.
Kessel At Golden Knights Practice
Despite not signing anywhere yet, Phil Kessel has been seen practicing with the Vegas Golden Knights.
Chris Gawlik of Vegas Hockey Now reported the following on Kessel practicing and his contract situation:
"Phil Kessel was on the ice getting work in and having fun with his former teammates. Speculation has started to emerge as the Minnesota Wild as a possible landing spot for the NHL's Ironman. Kessel was in great spirits and it was nice to see the band back together possibly for one last time." - Chris Gawlik of Vegas Hockey Now
It seems like a new contract with the Golden Knights is unlikely but you can never rule anything out. If Kessel were to accept a league-minimum deal with Vegas, he could be a veteran presence in the locker room. While he is no longer the star he used to be, he would certainly bring value to whichever team he signs with, whether that be Minnesota, Vegas, or somebody else.
