In what is one of the most drawn-out NHL trade sagas of late, Pierre-Luc Dubois has officially been traded from the Winnipeg Jets to the Los Angeles Kings.
David Pagnotta from The Fourth Period reports that the finalized return is still under negotiation but it is expected to include «multiple players/pieces», namely Gabe Vilardi and Alex Iafallo.
Pierre-Luc Dubois contract extension
David Pagnotta also mentions that a contract extension in Los Angeles is likely on the horizon for Dubois, a claim also supported by Murat Ates, a Jets correspondent for The Athletic.
Dubois had earlier expressed his preference for the Montreal Canadiens, but it seems GM Kent Hughes was not prepared to match the speculated trade return of Los Angeles. The 25-year-old Dubois had a successful season with Winnipeg, securing 63 points in 73 games. He is now joining a youthful Kings team, ready to make a strong run for the playoffs.
