Blues Rugged Defenseman Linked To Maple Leafs
Blues GM Looking to Make a Trade with Toronto?
It's already known that Brad Treliving is looking to upgrade his blue line before the trade deadline.
Earlier this week, the Maple Leafs and the Blackhawks played in Toronto, and there was a very attentive spectator in the stands.
Doug Armstrong was spotted at the game, making us wonder: could a trade be imminent?
The Blues have significant depth in their defensive unit. Either
Justin Faulk or
Colton Parayko would fit well in Toronto. However, they would come at a high cost. A more affordable option has emerged.
Treliving to Acquire a Defenseman From the Blues?
A particular defenseman has been identified as a great option for Treliving.
The Leafs GM might be considering
Robert Bortuzzo as a potential addition to the blue line.
Bortuzzo is a sturdy defenseman who plays a physical and aggressive game.
"Robert Bortuzzo hasn't played yet this season for STL, and they're carrying 8D (primarily to play their young D).
He's 6'4, shoots right, has a cup ring, is from Thunder Bay, is somewhat physical, and has squared off against every heavyweight in the past 5 years."
Making a trade won't be straightforward, considering Toronto's current financial constraints. However, it's not out of the question.
