A Stanley Cup champion's NHL career is in jeopardy after being placed on waivers potentially spelling the end of his NHL career.

Aube Kubel Hits Waivers



Nicolas Aube Kubel won a Stanley Cup with the Colorado Avalanche back in 2022. Since winning the Cup, he has played with the Leafs and Capitals. He got to Washington after being placed on waivers by Toronto in 2022-23.

Today, he was just placed on waivers again and this time he may clear waivers heading to the AHL.

Aube Kubel played with Toronto for only six games back in 2022-23 and was claimed by Washington. If another team feels his game is valuable enough, they will claim him, otherwise, his NHL career may be over.
