Earlier today, the Florida Panthers made a surprising decision concerning their goaltender, Spencer Knight.
Panthers Send Knight To AHL, Pay Penalty to Bypass Waivers

Knight, 22, who was set to return to the NHL this season after getting out of the Player Assistance Program, will need to wait before making his comeback with the Panthers.
Despite his one-way contract, the Panthers decided to send him to the AHL and paid a penalty to bypass waivers.
This confirms that Sergei Bobrovsky and Anthony Stolarz will be the starting tandem.
As for Knight, he could return to the Panthers in the near future if he performs well in the AHL.
"Spencer Knight has been assigned to the minors. It appears that Anthony Stolarz will backup Sergei Bobrovsky to start the season."
