The hockey world reacted to the passing of the great Bob Cole on social media.
After his tragic passing was announced by CBC earlier today, a lot of people wanted to pay their respect by posting something on X.

Joe Bowen, the lengendary play-by-play caller of the Leafs, posted the following statement:
"So very very sorry to hear of the passing of a hockey broadcasting icon, Bob Cole. We all grew up to the wonderful accounts and descriptions of hockey coast to coast. The pride of Newfoundland. Rest easy my friend"
Sheldon Keefe, head coach of the Toronto Maple Leafs, made this declaration:
"Sheldon Keefe calls the late Bob Cole an "icon," adding: "Someone who touched the game in so many ways. The voice of hockey not just in Toronto, but in our country.""

The former NHLer turned ESPN analyst P.K. Subban also wrote a heartfelt message:
"I'm saddened by the news of my friend Bob Cole's passing he was the best in the biz & one of the nicest people I have met in life period. 🥹🙌🏿 condolences to the Cole family. He will be missed but never forgotten! ❤️"
Nathan MacKinnon, Colorado Avalanche's star and fellow Maritimer said:
""Really sad. He's such a legend, such a great man. I've met him a few times over the years. At charity golf tournaments in Halifax, he'd come out and support Atlantic Canadians. Amazing person, super funny, just a great guy, and obviously some of the best calls of all time. Super sad to hear that."
