Matthew Knies was an amazing pick by Kyle Dubas in the second round.

He's growing into the mould of a great NHLer, with pro-ready instincts.

In an interview this past weekend, Knies revealed the type of NHLer he wants to become.

An old-fashioned player, I know I might not be the best stick handler or skater, but there's aspects that I think I'm better at than other players. That's why I use my body. It's another tool to get me to win those battles."

He equally shared that he's been looking up to Auston Matthews since he was 10 years old, and that made it difficult not to sign with the Leafs in the off-season, but he's happy with his decision as he's continued to develop.

We will see if Knies joins the Leafs for the playoffs, and hopefully he can fill this mould of a powerful winger soon.
