A strong prospect pool is vital to any NHL franchise's future success. However, things change quickly and it is truly a young man's league. So let's start a 32-team segment for them. During it, we'll look at two prospects from each NHL team who could start next season.
P. Krebs C/LW: Peyton Krebs has a good chance of playing for Vegas next season. He can play centre, and the Golden Knights need help there right now. In four games with the Golden Knights last season, he had an assist. He had five points and a goal in five games with the Henderson Silver Knights. The 20-year-old has the tools to be a productive scorer in the NHL, but he's also been praised for his defensive play. Considering this, Vegas should give him a shot at full-time next season.
Intriguing prospect Lucas Elvenes may see NHL action next season. But it's not clear with him. The Golden Knights don't have many NHL-ready prospects, but Elvenes may get a call-up. In 59 games with the Chicago Wolves in 2019-20, he scored 12 goals and 48 points. In 37 games with the Silver Knights, he scored 24 points. But he's a gifted passer who can set the tone. This may give him a small role with Vegas next season.
