According to Marco D'Amico of Montreal Hockey Now, the cleanup is just beginning in Florida.
This morning, we learned that the team's GM, Bill Zito, literally kicked out the finalist for the best head coach of the year, Andrew Brunette, and replaced him with veteran Paul Maurice. Maurice has agreed to a three-season contract.
D'Amico told us today that some bigger names, in terms of available coaches, are currently in talks to help the Panthers take a step forward next season.
The Panthers are firmly in winning mode, and with star players in need of new contracts over the next two years, they will likely be as aggressive this summer as they were at the trade deadline last March.
