Phil Kessel's iron man streak is simply mind-boggling. For a player to go a whole season without missing a game is impressive. Let alone going through a pandemic, reaching 1000 consecutive NHL games is already an incredible feat.

Not only is it just an incredible feat, it is something that only Kessel has done, and something that will likely never be done again.
Unfortunately, Kessel's streak, now standing at 1014 consecutive games played, looks to be coming to its end sooner rather than later.
On TSN's segment Insider Trading, Kessel is unlikely to finish this season with 82 games played. He only played a few shifts for the Golden Knights against the Buffalo Sabres, and once some of Vegas' regulars come back from injury, Kessel could see himself in the press box.
While it will be tough to see a streak thats lasted over a decade end, this is the nature of sports. Phil Kessel will undoubtably go down as one of the most unique players of all time, and he could very well hold this record forever.
