Kevyn Adams, the general manager of the Buffalo Sabres, met with the media on Wednesday and shared a lot of detail. The Sabres recently conducted their exit interviews, which garnered a lot of attention as some Sabres told management that they would prefer to move on elsewhere if the team were to rebuild again. The squad will go forward next season 'with the people who want to be here,' according to Adams.
Adams says he was "energized" by comments from young players yesterday: "We are going to get this right with the people who want to be here."— Elliotte Friedman (@FriedgeHNIC) May 12, 2021
This was a dig at Jack Eichel, Sam Reinhart, and Rasmus Ristolainen, who all expressed their emotions. Since there's a clear disconnect between their roster's potential and management's vision, the Sabres are expected to make a slew of changes this offseason, just as they did last.
When asked how the Sabres doctors turned down Eichel's offer for a particular operation, Adams said 'he will make sure to listen to the doctors.' Eichel has been the captain of the team for the past three seasons and is likely to be traded this offseason.
Will he trade Eichel?
