The San Jose Sharks are not off to the expected start with only 23 points in 30 games.
Lately, several rumours involving the Sharks have surfaced, including one for defenseman Erik Karlsson. A new big name on the team could also end up on the trade market: Timo Meier.
The right winger could come in and help a team with playoff and even Stanley Cup aspirations. Last year he had 76 points, including 35 goals in 77 games. He has entered the final year of his contract, which could be of interest to a team that doesn't want to impact its payroll for long.
It remains to be seen what the Sharks will ask for in return for Meier. One thing is certain, it will be very expensive.
