RUMOR: Five Teams In On Top Veteran Defenseman
The trade market is getting a bit more active as we near the holidays and teams are currently looking at bringing in a top veteran defenseman from the Coyotes.
Five Teams Calling On Dumba
Recently, Eklund from HockeyBuzz.com has reported some massive news regarding the Arizona Coyotes' defenseman
Matt Dumba.
I am already hearing New Jersey, Edmonton, the NY Rangers,. Tampa, as well as Buffalo. Dumba brings some serious grit and leadership to any team and you could just see him finding another level and finally getting to make a playoff impact.
Dumba currently makes $3.9 million for the rest of the season but could fetch many assets in return if he is retained upon.
Dumba's Slow Start But High Potential
Dumba offers a top-notch two-way game when he is at his best. However, this season he has been far from it. He only has two goals and four points for the Coyotes through 23 games with the team thus far.
In his prime, Dumba scored 14 goals and 50 points proving to be a legitimate top pairing defenseman for Minnesota. If he is able to get into a system that caters to his abilities, he could prove to be one of the most valuable trade deadline additions.
