The first half was a thing of the past when the Department of Player Safety ruled on the Nazem Kadri case. The repeat offender will have to serve eight games of suspension before returning to the game, while his victim will be absent for an indefinite period.
During the second duel between the two teams, Nazem Kadri had struck a dangerous check to the head of the defender who was in the attacking zone to take a shot at the net.
Colorado Avalanche number 91 was awarded a match penalty during the streak. For his part, Justin Faulk had missed the rest of the game and his return remains uncertain in this first round of the playoffs for the St. Louis Blues.
