It's going to be one of the most intriguing seasons for the Montreal Canadiens in recent memory. Many think that this team just got hot at the right time last season and that it's very unlikely to see this team back in the finals. I beg to differ
This team didn't get «hot», they jelled at the right time and their young studs got more comfortable by the day with NHL competition.

It all remains to be seen once October hockey comes around on the 13th and this team opens up against the desperate Leafs. These are the three Canadiens I will be glued watching this preseason (Sept. 25) to see signs of big time seasons coming from these guys. Ultimately propelling the Canadiens to a great regular season and a great position to repeat last seasons playoff success.
Here we go
Newpage
Cole Caufield:
I expect Caufield to lead all players this preseason in points. I see him building off the great rookie playoffs he had last season. Kid has a ton of potential and we are in the midst of seeing rapid growth in his progress to becoming a true star for this team and the league. He is an already early favourite for the Calder this season. Big praise for good reason, he will be getting his first NHL training camp in him, he will have some familiarity with the players he's around (good chemistry), and having an entire offseason preparing for this season.
Christian Dvorak:
Maybe not the most ideal way to start playing with a new team. Lots of drama behind the entire situation that still will be very fresh in people's mind once the season begins. Regardless though, acquiring a player like Dvorak has this entire fan base extremely excited no matter how hard the entire situation was on some. Coming from a a pretty brutal situation in Phoenix, it will be a huge breath of fresh air for Dvorak once he gets on that bleu, blanc et rouge. He is primed to make this drama all worth it for the next few seasons atleast.
Alexander Romanov:
The 21 year old stud defence men brings excellent physicality, mobility and is just flat out a coaches dream to coach. The best defence men at the 2018 World Juniors will be relied upon to take another big step forward this season. He will be looked upon to fill in the second D-pairing and stay there. Canadiens got a gem here on the back end, he will be a huge part of this great young core moving forward.
