Marc-Andre Fleury has always drawn praise for his personality and the most recent winner of the Vezina Trophy demonstrated this again this week by paying tribute to Tony Esposito, the legendary Chicago Blackhawks goaltender who sadly passed away last Tuesday at the age of 78.
While wishing his most sincere condolences to Mr. Esposito's family and friends, the Sorel goaltender paid tribute to the latter by recalling how he paved the way for goaltenders with a butterfly style. Fleury concluded by mentioning the pride he will have in following in the footsteps of this legend as a Blackhawks goaltender, having been traded to Chicago last July as a complete surprise.
It's enough to endear him to his new fans before the season even starts!
