According to Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports, negotiations between the Montreal Canadiens and the Cole Caufield family are going well. Lavoie confirmed that Kent Hughes wanted to settle the matter as quickly as possible.
However, the agent Pat Brisson is not in a hurry and could wait until the end of the season.
Trevor Zegras and Cole Caufield have the same agent and in the case of the Ducks' forward, negotiations have not yet begun:
"Discussions between Pat Brisson and Kent Hughes are ''underway.'' Are we going to let some time pass to see what happens with Zegras? Pat Brisson told me today [Thursday] that he was in constant communication with Pat Verbeek, but that negotiations had not begun. They will start at the appropriate time," Lavoie told JiC.
Caufield scored two more goals yesterday to bring his total to 18 this season.
