Montreal Canadiens Executive Vice President of Hockey Operations Jeff Gorton appeared on the Bob McCown Podcast.
Of course, Gorton was asked about Shane Wrights threatening look towards the Habs table when he was selected by the Seattle Kraken.
Here's his take on the situation:
« No, I don't think it was an intimidating look. We spent a lot of time with Shane and I think he's a great kid. We put him through the rigors and asked him a lot of questions. We spent time making videos and going to dinner with him. He's an impressive young man. If he did it, I have no problem with it. I've seen the video, and people can do whatever they want with it. We didn't see it that way." - Jeff Gorton
Gorton went with solid compliments to Juraj Slafkovsky:
« He's the kind of player that's very hard to find. That size, that power, that skating. When we looked at him, yes, he's a big guy, but when you look at his face, he looks like he's 16, so there's room for his growth. We all went to the World Championships and saw what he was capable of doing after the Olympics, and over time he became a person we really wanted to have." - Jeff Gorton
