Journalist Murat Ates has published a very interesting piece on The Athletic, regarding Pierre-Luc Dubois.

He states, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that Pierre-Luc Dubois will become a Montreal Canadiens player.

"The major negotiating leverage for Kent Hughes here, and one that works in the Canadiens' favour, is that Pierre-Luc Dubois just made it extremely clear he intends to sign with the CH in two years. The return the Jets might receive in a trade, with a team other than Montreal, is therefore affected by this. (They know he'll still end up in Montreal in 2024)"

Whether it's via a trade or on the autonomous player market in a few years, Dubois will play in Montreal.

"Multiple very reliable sources have confirmed to The Athletic that, wearing the Blue-White-Red uniform, is a dream for Dubois and he's not shy about talking about it openly.

"I think at some point. Whether it's this summer or next, or even two years from now when he's an uncompensated free agent, it seems inevitable at this point if you ask me if Pierre-Luc Dubois will ever be a Montreal Canadiens." - Murat Ates

Dubois, 24, had 60 points in 81 games last season. He remains out of contract for the upcoming campaign.
