Here's why the Canadiens have no choice but to make a trade very soon

Along with the Vegas Golden Knights and the Tampa Bay Lightning, the Montreal Canadiens have the highest payroll in the NHL.
With the acquisition of veteran Evgenii Dadonov, who costs $5M for one more season, there is officially $1.9M left on Kent Hughes' payroll.
Add to that the Habs must sign at least Rem Pitlick, Alexander Romanov, Michael Pezzetta and Samuel Montembeault.
In addition to signing some or all of these four players, the Habs will likely sign their first round pick, either Shane Wright, Juraj Slafkovsky or Logan Cooley, to an entry-level contract.
There will be some action this summer, folks!
