According to information from Jimmy Murphy of Montreal Hockey Now, the most active executive currently in the Bettman circuit would be Montreal Canadiens general manager Kent Hughes.
That's what another top NHLer reportedly told Murphy.
« He is easily the busiest GM at the moment. I know we've talked to him on several occasions and we're not the only ones. I have to give it to Kent, he is creative and determined. »
Murphy's source added a layer.
« I think what helps him a lot as a GM when he was an agent before is that he's very aware of the young people coming up. He's done a lot of evaluation. He's really well connected at the amateur level and that helps him in trade talks. »
Many moves will be coming in the next few days and it will be exciting to follow, considering that the NHL draft is this Thursday.
