With the addition of Carey Price to the long-term injury list, the Habs now have a few million available.
Everyone agrees that the Habs need to add a right-handed defenceman to their roster.
Reputable Marc-Antoine Godin of The Athletic has targeted four defencemen who could be available on the trade market.
First up is Tyson Barrie in Edmonton. With two seasons left on his $4.5 million-a-year salary, that's not what will scare Kent Hughes in the short term. With 435 points in 683 NHL games, he can certainly help the Tricolore on the power play.
Godin also selected three other defencemen with a more "defensive" flavour. They are Dylan DeMelo of the Winnipeg Jets, Justin Holl of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Travis Hamonic of the Ottawa Senators.
