In the latest of the Jacob Panetta allegations on making a racist gesture to Jordan Subban during an ECHL game between the Jacksonville Icemen and South Carolina Stingrays, former NHL'er Andrew Shaw came to the defense of Panetta.
Jacob Panetta made a video defending his actions saying, "it was a tough guy pose and that he's made the same gestures towards other players not just Subban." Panetta says "it wasn't meant to be a racist gesture at all", defending himself on Twitter after being suspended by the ECHL.
Andrew Shaw who we learned is cousins to Jacob Panetta came to his defence saying, "I would caution everyone not to rush to judgment. After all if there are indeed multiple instances of Panetta making this gesture in the past it would be relatively easy for an investigation to verify that through video of his playing career".
