Breaking: Major NHL Sponspor Declares Bankruptcy
One of the main sponsors of the NHL has officially filed for bankruptcy.
BioSteel in Hot Water
Allen Walsh, the renowned player agent, shared some breaking news concerning BioSteel.
Sports drink company BioSteel files for bankruptcy protection in the U.S. and Canada.
BioSteel, the official sports drink supplier of the NHL, is ahead of other brands like Gatorade, Powerade, and Body Armor.
However, the parent company stopped giving money to BioSteel, which could result in a swift end. It appears they've been in the red for months.
They also host training camps for NHLers. Connor McDavid and Connor Bedard are among the renowned participants.
The NHL might need to start looking for a replacement, as the disbanding of BioSteel seems imminent.
Canopy Growth bought a majority interest in BioSteel in 2019, in the hopes of diversifying its business into drinks, but the deal hasn't worked out as planned. Canopy says BioSteel was responsible for about 60 per cent of its financial losses this fiscal year.
Updates will follow.
