The Tampa Bay Lightning have been one of the NHL's best teams of the modern day, and while there's plenty that goes into that, it's safe to say that captain Steven Stamkos has been a very positive influence on the team.
A Lightning superstar
From a time when no one wanted to play in Tampa Bay, Stamkos was drafted No. 1 overall and the rest is history, as he has gone on to help this team become a dynasty and a destination for free agents.
Now however, it appears he may be on the way out, as a salary cap crunch may force the Lightning to move on from their biggest star as Kucherov, Vasilevsky and Point are all signed for the future.
A division rival
If that departure were to happen, it appears the Boston Globe believe the Bruins could be the perfect landing spot, as Kevin Paul Dupont has predicted that's a partnership made in heaven for the former top pick.

Kevin Paul DuPont of the Boston Globe suggested in a recent article that if Steven Stamkos decides to test free agency when his contract is up, the Boston Bruins would be one team extremely interested.
In his article, he writes «If Stamkos decides to test free agency waters, there would be considerable interest from numerous teams, including the Boston Bruins. Like Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci, Stamkos is a right-shot center who showcased his skills with a career-high 106 points just two seasons ago.»
Stamkos is signed through the 2023-24 season, but is a pending unrestricted free agent for the 2024 free agency period.
With their needs down the middle to pair with their strong group of wingers, great defense and elite goaltending, if the Bruins were to land the future Hall of Famer, it's safe to say that they'd once again become a Stanley Cup favourite in the Eastern Conference.
