BREAKING: First-Round Pick Goes Down With Injury
A top-10 pick from the 2022 draft has gone down with a scary shoulder injury.
Disaster Strikes The Buffalo Sabres As 2022 Ninth Overall Pick Savoie Goes Down With A Shoulder Injury Versus Pittsburgh
The Buffalo Sabres just had a worst-case-scenario situation happen as their 9th overall pick from the 2022 NHL draft, Matthew Savoie, went down with a scary shoulder injury.
Here is the video of him crashing into the boards awkwardly and Pittsburgh scoring immediately after.
He was then seen limping off the ice holding his shoulder.
Those in attendance have reported that he has not returned.
Savoie was looking to push for a roster spot with the Sabres this year and if not, go back to the WHL and compete for a Memorial Cup. He scored 95 points in 62 games last year which was second on his team only to 2023 13th overall pick Zach Benson.
While the official injury has yet to be announced, Sabres fans are holding their breath that is minor but there is a chance that this is a collar bone injury which would sideline Savoie for the entirety of the 2023-24 campaign.
