Mark Stone was on the trade block before winning the cup with Vegas, and this surprising Canadian team almost landed him.

Winnipeg Jets Could Have Brought Him Home

In 2018, the Winnipeg Jets were widely considered a Stanley Cup contender for the Western Conference. They were close to achieving the feat, too, losing in the Conference Finals. A year later, the Jets lost to the eventual Stanley Cup Champions.

It's easy to look back and think about what could have been, especially if they added Mark Stone to the mix, which they had the opportunity to do.

Mark Stone Could Have Been A Jet for a Reasonable Price

The Jets already had forwards like Mark Scheifele, Nik Ehlers, Blake Wheeler, Kyle Connor and others. However, it has been revealed that the team had a prime opportunity to add Mark Stone, for the small cost of prospect Jack Roslovic and a pick.

It is not certain that adding Mark Stone would have gotten the Jets over the hump. What is certain is that Stone would go on to win his own Stanley Cup in Vegas. It is hard not to imagine the energy that Stone would have ignited in his hometown arena.
