A Player on the Swiss Team Given a 10-Minute Game Misconduct Penalty For The Most Ridiculous Reason
The World Juniors are on in full force. If there's one thing that sets the tournament apart from others, it's the severity of the rules. The officials are following the rulebook to a tee, and it's led to some ridiculous penalties.
However, it appears we have now seen the craziest penalty yet.
The Swiss junior team was playing against Latvia today, when player Mischa Ramel was given a 10-minute game misconduct for chewing on his mouthguard
.
Getting a penalty for an equipment violation is one thing, but for chewing on a mouthguard? That's a little much.
Ultimately, Switzerland prevailed over Latvia... but no thanks to the officials.
