In some unfortunate news, the Toronto Maple Leafs have announced that three key players will not be participating in the start of training camp due to injuries.
It's been reported by NHL insider Chris Johnston that Connor Dewar is suffering from a shoulder injury whereas Ben Danford has a concussion. All eyes were going to be on Fraser Minten this camp, but unfortunately, he got injured in a rookie game a few days ago and now has a high ankle sprain.
The Toronto Maple Leafspicked Fraser Minten in the second round of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft, with the 38th selection. Before he was drafted, he played his junior years in the WHL for the Kamloops Blazers. During his time in Kamloops, he was molded into a versatile player when he really began developing himself as a significant player on his team. During the 2022-2023 season with WHL, Minten was having quite the point-getting season and really showing his leadership qualities. He finished that season with 67 points in 57 games.
Fraser Minten did manage to get into four games for the Leafs last season but unfortunately did not register a single point. He was hoping to really impress this year to secure a role on the team, but due to this injury, that is going to have to wait.
As more details are revealed regarding these three injuries in the coming days, we will be sure to keep you updated.
