McDavid Caught on Camera Talking To Trainer About Extent of Injury
It's unlike McDavid to miss important moments in games, so when he does, we know it is likely something serious. After he left a shift looking uncomfortable and holding his side, he can be seen on camera making a remark to the Oilers training staff. While there is no sound to what he says, it appears that he is saying he tore something to the trainer.

While it's unlikely that McDavid himself even knew exactly what was going on in the moment, his reaction gives some insight into what he felt during the game.

The Oilers ended up dropping the game in overtime last night to the Jets, despite McDavid's two assists in the game. It wasn't for lack of trying, either, as McDavid went for a skate to test out his injury before overtime began, but he remained on the bench after that.
