BREAKING: Rangers Lose Star Player To Injury
The New York Rangers are looking to finally capture a Stanley Cup with their current core. Today an unfortunate injury has put a damper on the excitement for the upcoming season.
Zibanejad Leaves Scrimmage With Injury
During the New York Rangers scrimmage on Sunday, Mika Zibanejad was involved in an inadvertent collision at center ice. He then had to be helped off the ice by teammates according to sources. Zibanejad was one of many Rangers stars playing in the scrimmage.
Oh, boy. Not sure exactly how it happened, but they just had to stop play because Mika Zibanejad was hunched over in pain. Looked like he was favoring his right arm and went to the bench very gingerly. #NYR
After this scary incident, Zibanejad did not return to the scrimmage. After the game, it was found out that he will be day-to-day with this injury. This is the second star in two days to be hurt in an intrasquad scrimmage after the Buffalo Sabres Rasmus Dahlin left their scrimmage with a hand injury.
Both players seem to have escaped major injury but this might make teams think a bit more about playing stars in meaningless scrimmages.
