Alexander Ovechkin declines participating in the NHL All-Star weekend
In breaking news, Alexander Ovechkin has declined to participate in the NHL All-Star Game, choosing to have a break instead.
According to a report released today, Alexander Ovechkin of the Washington Capitals notified the team that he would not like to be selected as the team's representative for the NHL All-Star game, electing to have his full break instead.
#Capitals 🇺🇸 forward Alexander Ovechkin 🇷🇺 has notified the team that he prefers to skip the 2024 NHL All-Star Game.
This could have been one of the reasons that Capitals' Tom Wilson was announced as their selection for the All-Star game. While Ovechkin has just 8 goals and 24 points through 36 games, it will be different not having him at the All-Star game, as he has been a staple at the event in the 12 times he has been selected to participate.
