The Vegas Golden Knights have made plenty of history in their short time in the NHL. Most recently they won the Stanley Cup and added themselves to the list of franchises to have lifted the best trophy in sports. Now one of their former players is making history of his own.
Shipachyov's Stint In Vegas
Vadim Shipachyov signed with the Vegas Golden Knights heading into the 2017-18 season. This was Vegas' inaugural season and Shipachyov was hyped up as one of the best potential players heading into the season.
Unfortunately for Shipachyov and the Golden Knights things didn't quite work out how everyone hoped. He only played 3 NHL games with the Golden Knights before being sent down to the AHL. Once he was sent down he failed to report and went back to Russia to play in the KHL. Now this looks to have been the best decision for both parties involved.
Alls Well That Ends Well
Shipachyov broke a new KHL barrier today being the first player in KHL history with 600 assists.
He is currently playing for Ak Bars Kazan in the KHL where he is an assistant captain. As for the Golden Knights they of course won the Stanley Cup and have no complaints even though things did not work out between the duo.
