Auston Matthews has one more game to get a single goal in his chase for 70 on the year, and despite reports to the contrary, it appears he'll get that shot.
In his chase for 70 goals this season, Auston Matthews has gone through some ups and downs, but ahead of the regular season finale against the Florida Panthers, he's sitting at 69 goals.
There were some reporters speculating that Head Coach Sheldon Keefe could look to rest Matthews, but ahead of a matchup with the Florida Panthers, he has confirmed that's not the case.
Auston Matthews will be in the lineup tonight. Keefe, asked how he'll deploy in the game and manage minutes of the top guys: «Relatively normal».
Whether or not Matthews reaches 70 this year, it's been an incredible run, and even with the playoffs looming, it appears he's ready to keep rolling ahead of what should be a fun round one matchup against either the Boston Bruins or Florida Panthers.
