The Leafs continued their 5-game road trip on Saturday, unfortunately, they lost 5-3 against the Hurricanes in a game they probably could have won.
The Leafs outplayed the Hurricanes for most of the game, they outshot the Hurricanes 44-28. One Leafs player really stood out at the game, and could have easily scored 5 or 6 goals.
Sheldon Keefe, his head coach, was very happy with Matthews, despite the fact that the Leafs lost:
Auston Matthews has had some difficulties with injuries this season, but now that he is back and healthy, fans are seeing him show the same skill he showed last season, when he won the Ted Lindsay, Hart and the Rocket Richard Trophies. Auston Matthews seems to be putting it all back together right before the playoffs. We hope that he is ready to help the Leafs make a deep run in the playoffs.
