Oliver Ekman-Larsson reveals why he chose the Leafs in free agency
Oliver Ekman-Larsson believes that the Toronto Maple Leafs have a better roster than the Stanley Cup winning Florida Panthers.
Ekman-Larsson stated that the players on the Leafs roster are one of the best he has ever seen in any locker room.
Oliver Ekman-Larsson has some high praise for his new team. 🤩
Not only does Ekman-Larsson believe this Leafs team is better than that of the Stanley Cup winning Florida Panthers, but he also has very high praise for the passionate fan base of Toronto.
That's not something that Toronto fans have been used to hearing from NHL players, especially knowing how many players and coaches have crumbled under the intense pressure they face from the Canadian media.
Oliver Ekman-Larsson is excited to play more regularly in front of the passionate Leafs fans in Toronto
Ekman-Larsson chipped in with 32 points last year with the Panthers, and he also finished with a nice +/- rating of +10. He was very solid in the playoffs too during for the panthers, posting 6 points in their 24 games with a +/- rating of +1.
That type of defensive play and playoff experience is exactly what the Leafs need if they are going to make a deep run in the playoffs next season.
