Major update on NHL defenseman John Klingberg's health status
John Klingberg, former defenceman for the Toronto Maple Leafs, has not fully recovered from a previous injury, and is not ready to return to play.
After suffering an injury last season, defenceman John Klingberg is still recovering and has no timeline as to when he will return to action.
John Klingberg is still recovering and is waiting until he's fully healthy before exploring his playing options for next season - nothing imminent here.
Klingberg only played 14 games with the Maple Leafs last season, in which he had 5 assists, and did not score a goal. He finished with a not so stellar +/- of -7. The Leafs signed Klingberg as a free agent to a 1 year contract worth over 4 million dollars prior to the start of last season.
John Klingberg will undergo season ending surgery, bringing his time with the Toronto Maple Leafs to a premature end
It's pretty safe to say, the Maple Leafs didn't get what they were hoping for when they signed the former Stars defenceman last season. It will be interesting to see if any teams, including the Leafs, decide to sign Klingberg once he announces he is ready to return to the ice.
