The Toronto Maple Leafs have finally gotten an update regarding Steven Lorentz after he left Saturday's game against the Detroit Red Wings.

In their 6-3 defeat to the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday, the team ended up losing more than just the game as forward Steven Lorentz took an awkward hit from Ben Chiarot and ended up leaving the game.
That injury seemed to lead to the team's downfall and with Lorentz not appearing at practice, the worst was feared.
Thankfully the team has given us an update on the forward's health ahead of Monday's Thanksgiving matinee against Detroit.
While it's not a good sign for Monday, it looks like there's some hope for Lorentz to return shortly:
According to Terry Koshan who spoke with head coach Craig Berube, Lorentz was on the ice practicing on Monday and could be in line to make his return on Tuesday night as part of the back-to-back against the Nashville Predators.

Why Lorentz's Quick Recovery Matters for the Maple Leafs' Depth

Lorentz's absence has led the way for rookie Easton Cowan to make his NHL debut and a strong showing is going to make it harder for Berube to take him out.
But maybe that's a good thing, as the team can utilize Cowan as much as possible to give Lorentz time to heal up while simultaneously getting to see what he can offer (and on the top line no less).
Lorentz was a bright spot thus far for the Maple Leafs, with two assists in two games, a plus-3 and six hits already before going down with an injury.
Coupling that with Scott Laughton going down and the staunch fourth-line was suddenly missing two-thirds of it and has led to a major lineup reshuffling.
Steve Dangle put it best during the Detroit/Toronto game when everything started to fall apart:
Toronto certainly thought highly of Lorentz's performance last year and handed him a three-year extension; an impressive leap considering he signed as a PTO last summer.
Who'd of thought that Lorentz was the glue that held the team together, so it's a pretty fantastic sign that he looks ready to get back on the ice and make the impact the Toronto Maple Leafs need him to.
