Tonight in a rivalry game ahead of the trade deadline chaos broke loose when Maple Leafs defenseman Jake McCabe put a massive cross-check on Brad Marchand.
McCabe Cross-Checks Marchand In His Face After The Whistle
After play was blown dead early in the first period between the Maple Leafs and Bruins chaos broke loose. This happened as a result of Maple Leafs defenseman Jake McCabe cross-checking Brad Marchand seemingly out of nowhere.
Nothing to see here, just some Leafs vs. Bruins hockey.
By the end of the scrum, the Maple Leafs ended up with two penalties. One handed to McCabe for interference the other to Matthew Knies for roughing. Shortly after the Bruins would go on to score on the powerplay courtesy of David Pastrnak.

The game is now mid-way through the first period and the Maple Leafs find themselves still trailing. it will be interesting to see if this mental lapse from McCabe ends up costing the Maple Leafs the game.
