The Toronto Maple Leafs have an update on a potential offer sheet candidate in forward Mason McTavish, according to a report.

A new report reveals the status of RFA forward Mason McTavish as a player who could receive an offer sheet, with new information on that possibility now revealed.
Insider Frank Seravalli named McTavish as a player who could use a change of scenery. McTavish had previously been named as someone who could be a target for the Leafs to potentially go after.
With the rumor of McTavish being a possible offer sheet candidate, Seravalli has poured cold water on the rumors, not seeing the 22-year-old as a player who'll be in those circumstances.
McTavish, a former third overall pick of the Anaheim Ducks in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft, had 22 goals, 30 assists, & 52 points in 76 games this past season for Anaheim, a potential long-term option for the Ducks who look to contend in the future with a young core that potentially includes fellow top three picks Leo Carlsson & Beckett Sennecke.
Rebuilding to be a potential playoff team in a few years, the Ducks would rather keep someone like McTavish who would be key to their aspirations.

Where Mason McTavish Stands Heading Into the New Season

For now, it seems Mason McTavish is more than likely to remain a member of the Anaheim Ducks, although both sides are in a waiting game.
Currently unsigned, McTavish is reportedly looking for a long-term deal that gives him potential stability in Anaheim, although nothing at this time appears done in terms of a new contract for McTavish.
The Ducks youngster hasn't been hinted as leaving Anaheim, and Seravalli's reporting seems to back up the idea that the focus is on McTavish staying.
Likely, any team looking for McTavish's services will probably not get their chance to potentially swoop him from Anaheim, and that includes the Toronto Maple Leafs as a team that could acquire him, although that doesn't mean he couldn't be used as a trade chip later on.
Although he's not signed, Mason McTavish seems poised to gain a new long-term contract, and one that commits to building the Anaheim Ducks offense to have their youngsters carry the mantle from promise to bringing their upside to fruition.
