If the Toronto Maple Leafs want to add some major physicality and goal-scoring to their lineup, they need to go after the perfect Brad Treliving target in Vancouver.

For Brad Treliving, he did a great job this offseason at trying to change the identity of the Maple Leafs, trying to bring in more gritty players, secondary scoring, and create a system built around a collective effort, and not just star power.
But it hasn't been as successful as we expected, and there are certainly a lot of other players the team could target to bring in, and might be able to improve their lineup.
However, a perfect Brad Treliving piece sits out in Western Canada, and the Maple Leafs should really take a hard look at bringing him in.

Kiefer Sherwood Offers Toronto Unique Top-Nine Option

When you hear Sherwood and hockey, you normally associate it with the hockey equipment manufacturer however the Canucks forward has been doing everything in his power to make himself a household name.
With an absurd 696 hits over his last two seasons, Sherwood is known for being a player who hits everything that moves, several times a game, and has an incredible level of intimidation that often goes overlooked.
But he isn't just a one trick pony, as he's got some serious offensive chops too, as his 19-goal season last year proves it. His recent goal as well had fans more than impressed:
Excuse me? You're hitting 400+ times a season and doing that? Surely, that must be just a one time occurrence right?
Yeah, Sherwood has been doing it for a while now, and he's one of the most unique forwards in the entire league, and doing it at only 6'0 and under 200 pounds.
A pending free agent at the end of the year, Sherwood only makes $1.5-million and is a bargain pickup for the team, and would be well worth the price.
At this point, trade Nick Robertson and a mid-level pick, sign him up for the next few seasons and add someone who fits their new identity perfectly, or if they are patient enough; can offer him a huge raise in the summer and pry him away from Vancouver.
Sherwood is a player who would make the Maple Leafs better overall, offering a more reliable scoring option than some of their other pieces, with the physical nature that Craig Berube loves.
