Maple Leafs Prospect Placed on Waivers Officially Learns His Fate

Maple Leafs forward Ty Voit cleared waivers on Wednesday setting up his future in the league.
The news was broken by NHL insider Elliotte Friedman on X:
Voit spent most of his time in the ECHL with both Newfoundland and Cincinnati, and appeared in one game for the Marlies.
Voit's future uncertain but open
With Toronto looking to terminate his deal, Voit would be a free agent and therefore be able to head wherever he feels he can continue his career.
Voit was drafted 153rd overall by the Maple Leafs in 2021 but never really found his footing with the team, and with him being undersized he doesn't have a direct path to the team.
Plus, with Toronto signing prospect
Miroslav Holinka as well to an entry-level contract, the writing on the wall couldn't be clearer.
As Toronto heads in a different direction this season, they have to make room for all their new signings, and Voit is the latest casualty
But don't expect him to be the last.
