A new report from Frank Seravalli shows that Jordan Kyrou's name is still out there in terms of trade rumors, and explains why there's been a delay in talks.

There's a lot of talk surrounding potential trade targets this summer in the NHL. Nick Kypreos released his big trade board, we've heard rumblings of everyone from Nazem Kadri to Erik Karlsson, and it seems like a deal is gonna appear out of nowhere.

Kyrou back in play, but the Blues are preventing mutual interest

But one name who has been in the news for several weeks is Jordan Kyrou, as the Blues star forward is a very expensive asset for GM Doug Armstrong, and might want to move on and recoup some premium assets in the process.
A perennial 30-goal scorer, he would improve any team's top-six and be a star for years to come, but he's going to come at a cost.
According to NHL Insider Frank Seravalli, there's no real idea to that cost considering St. Louis is shutting down any talks.
Speaking for Bleacher Report, he mentioned that Kyrou has garnered a ton of interest, and teams are begging for a chance to at least talk to him and see if has any mutual interest:
I believe Jordan Kyrou's name remains out there; there are other teams...that have called to express interest; a lot of teams were hoping...if they could just have a conversation with the kid they could convince him to waive.

Roadblocks aplenty in potential Jordan Kyrou trade

Kyrou owns a no-trade clause, so he would need to approve of a deal beforehand, and with the Blues being a surprise playoff team last year, Kyrou might feel he can continue to lead them.
But the team has a ton of money locked up in deals with Brayden Schenn, Robert Thomas, and Pavel Buchnevich making a combined $22.63-million this upcoming season, and if they want to open up any space for 2026's free agency class; they need to move him.
Toronto would love to have him, though it might take a lot of assets that the team doesn't have, especially if they are asking for any salary retention. It would be hard to see Brad Treliving offer them anything that doesn't involve Easton Cowan, or even Matthew Knies.
If the team really is all-in, then it might behoove them to offer one of their top prospects, a young player like Nick Robertson as well as a pick; it could be enough to bring in Kyrou.
Nothing is for certain, but as the rumor mill keeps spinning, so too will the gears of Brad Treliving as he tries to find a top-six improvement before it's too late.
