The Toronto Maple Leafs have returned six players from training camp to their junior teams.
Toronto has announced that they have sent six players down to the Canadian Hockey League after their first days of training camp.
Trimming down their roster, Toronto has sent some of their top prospects back to Juniors, with the CHL having started their regular season.
Which Prospects the Maple Leafs Sent Back to Junior
Those sent down include 2025 third round pick, forward Tyler Hopkins, along with fellow 225 picks forwards Harry Nansi (Owen Sound) and Matthew Hlacar (Kitchener).
Also sent back are defensemen Rylan Fellinger (Flint) & Nathan Mayes (Spokane), and forward Sam McCue (Brantford).

All six players are members of the Canadian Hockey League, and all are OHLers except for Mayes, who plays in the WHL.
Toronto begins their preseason tomorrow against the Ottawa Senators, with some top CHL eligible prospects including Ben Danford and Miroslav Holinka still on the Leafs roster.
Also still on the roster are undrafted invites Landon Sim and Owen Conrad, Sim having become a fan favorite for his aggressive playstyle and scrappiness, as he even got into a battle with former London Knights teammate Easton Cowan.
All six players were involved with the Leafs rookie camp, including Hopkins who had shown promise in his trial in the Leafs prospect tournament, which had brought some speculation if he'd see preseason action for Toronto, but instead returns to Kingston.
Still on the roster is top prospect and CHL graduate Easton Cowan, who is battling for a spot on the Leafs lineup and had been taking reps during practice alongside projected third-liners Nicolas Roy and Dakota Joshua.
With their six cuts, the Toronto Maple Leafs current preseason roster now stands at 67.
