The Toronto Maple Leafs had their Hometown Remix jerseys leaked to the public as fans showed off new threads that aren't as great upon a second glance.

We reported earlier that the Maple Leafs had five scheduled Hometown Remix nights that were to commemorate different eras including a celebration of 100 Years of the Leaf - with their jerseys being an homage to that 1927 team.

However, fans were a bit disappointed that there were only five games with the alternate jersey at which point they will join the others like the Centennial Classic and Maple Leaf Gardens jerseys of the past - collecting dust, never to be worn again.

Hometown Remix jerseys aren't as pretty as fans had hoped

But it seems like those jerseys while a great homage, aren't exactly the most fashionable. Upon a second glance, the new threads don't invoke the same type of nostalgia that previous jerseys had:

The inclusion of cream and white together is subjectively an odd choice, as some will like it and some won't. The coolest part of the jersey besides the old-school logo is the maple leaf-styled veins in the numbers and logo, bringing a true to life feel to the crest.

Macy's leaks the Hometown Remixes and they aren't cheap

But the jerseys are also not going to come cheaply either, as Macy's leaked the list of Hometown Remix jerseys, and with the presumed prices being in USD - it's an expensive addition for collectors:

However, it does seem like the prices are going to stay static when it comes to Canadian currency, as the official NHL store has the Hometown Remixes on sale for the same $274.99 price. With taxes that comes to roughly $312, and is a fair increase over the standard player jersey at $237 (w/ taxes).

So for fans who are trying to get their hands on them, they certainly can as of today though it'll cost a bit more though what can you expect? It's a rare jersey only sold for a limited time likely - it's a hot commodity.

Though it might not be as hot as originally anticipated.
