According to Elliotte Friedman, the Toronto Maple Leafs held a personal meeting that was not only intense, and the timing of it has drawn attention.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have underperformed this season, with an 8-8-2 record and currently mired in a four-game losing streak, dealt with numerous injuries already.
After suffering a string of losses, the Maple Leafs held a closed-door meeting
and according to Elliotte Friedman -- things got intense.

Why the Leafs held this meeting in the first place

The insider revealed on his 32 Thoughts podcast that this past Monday, the Maple Leafs held a meeting that held nothing back as the team tries to figure out a solution to their woes:
Monday, the Maple Leafs had a closed doors meeting, and word I heard was that the meeting itself was honest, blunt, intense, and at times, brutal. Some guys were singled out even.
There is no further information as to which players were singled out, or what was discussed in the meeting, but the tone of the meeting that Friedman described as 'honest, blunt, and intense' is concerning.

Why the team's response raised new concerns

However, the response from the players coming out of the meeting was a loss to the Bruins where they were outmanned, then coming into Thursday's game they managed to sneak out a point in overtime.
Fans also reacted on social media:
How the group responds to these conversations will shape the next stretch of their season.
It's raised questions because the team is already dealing with fan pressure, and a lacklustre record coupled with injuries to key players only exacerbates things.
With key players sidelined and results slipping, Toronto's leadership group faces important decisions in the weeks ahead.
