Chris Tanev's timeline for a return is becoming much more clear as the Maple Leafs prepare for lineup changes ahead of Saturday's matchup against the Flyers.

Positive news for the Toronto Maple Leafs defense as Chris Tanev appears close to making his return after missing over a week.
Tanev has not played for the Leafs since October 21st after leaving against the New Jersey Devils due to what the team called an upper-body injury.
Ahead of Saturday's game against the Philadelphia Flyers, Chris Tanev was active with the team, an indication of him preparing to be back with the Leafs.
In practice, Chris Tanev had been spotted alongside Oliver Ekman-Larsson as it appears likely the Leafs defenseman could make his return to the ice this weekend against Philadelphia.

Chris Tanev Likely to Return Saturday as Maple Leafs Lineup Takes Shape

Chris Tanev will likely be back in the Toronto Maple Leafs lineup, and it's a major boost the team will more than need.
Toronto has had a slow start this season, and their play in their own end has been a big reason as to why. Toronto has been one of the worst teams defensively this season, and without Tanev exposing them even further.
One of the best defensive defensemen in the NHL, the return of Tanev should be a positive for Toronto to improve their blueline.
Tanev is one of a few players who could slot back in for Toronto against Philadelphia this Saturday.

Multiple Injured Maple Leafs Reappear at Practice, Signaling Progress

The Toronto Maple Leafs are getting additional good news as more players seem poised to potentially return against the Flyers.
William Nylander, who missed the Leafs game against Columbus due to injury, is not guaranteed to play vs Philadelphia, but says he felt good in practice, playing back up on the Leafs first line.
Scott Laughton, who up until his trade to Toronto at the last trade deadline was a career Flyer, and was seen at practice for Toronto as well.
However, Leafs head coach Craig Berube gave some hesitancy on the potential of Laughton playing, calling him doubtful to appear against the Flyers.
Additionally, Calle Jarnkrok was cleared to play for Toronto, while Steven Lorentz is now day-to-day.
The Toronto Maple Leafs may not get all their roster back by tomorrow, but most of their injured players appears close to getting the team back to full health.
